Costs and Grant Assistance

Costs of contens from the Brain Collection and the available support for securing funding for researchers planning their projects

Costs

Data that are already available may be provided free of charge. This includes the initial phases involving preliminary consultations as well as the identification and retrieval of materials available in the existing database. Subsequently, the Brain Collection will provide an estimate of costs for any additional work that may be required.

Data that are not already available must be financed by the researcher, including:

  • Digitization of medical records which are stored at The Danish National Archives
  • Optical character recognition (OCR) of scanned paper materials
  • Tissue sampling
  • Scanning of microscopy slides
  • Shipping of materials
  • Other related costs

(The OCR work may alternatively be carried out as part of a scientific collaboration with the aim of publication, instead of financial compensation.)
